Optimistic about everyone's innate strengths

Elizabeth is always optimistic that everyone has a beautiful, bold personality hidden under a cloak of low self-worth, ‘not-enoughness’, or other hidden self-sabotaging stories. What's more, she's experienced that these stories also cloak us from connecting personally with God. She has developed her own connection with Spirit, mostly with the aid of her spiritual path, Eckankar, over the past 35+ years.

Challenges the status quo

Elizabeth is personally driven by a profound sense of adventure and creativity, is curious, unconventional, and seeks new options. You can count on her to bring a surprising new twist to the normal.

Her approachable and transparent style makes her an ‘open book’. She intuitively understands ideas and feelings of others, and brings a dash of quirky humour to life.

In summary, she challenges the status quo, sees opportunities everywhere, and enjoys the challenge of working against the grain.

Editor and author

The founding editor of LivingNow magazine, in 1989, and the author of the book, Seven Angels Helped Me — They'll Help You Too, Elizabeth has developed a simple and yet profound recipe for life, borne of many years of ups and downs in business and her personal life, and, as mentioned, her membership of Eckankar.

As editor of LivingNow, she loved that people were finding options to improve their lives. Now, with the creative solutions offered in this course, she's able to be even more effective in this objective.

Her many years in business — as both an employee and employer — have given her a strong business acumen, always tempered with her intuition, creativity and quirky humour.

She is 'on the spectrum'

And where did this quirkiness come from? Elizabeth identifies as a person with Asperger’s Syndrome. Her personality was always difficult for others to understand, and many times she’s been labelled as having ‘foot-in-mouth disease’. It was not until she found, while in her 50s, that she had Asperger’s, that she was able to relax about her foibles and see the gifts they brought with them.

Since she was very small, Elizabeth had an inkling that there was an energy in the universe that was bigger than any of us, and that it was something she wanted to connect with. She had a couple of experiences as a little child that reinforced that for her, but back then she had no idea how to be in touch with that Godforce.

She explored quite a lot of different religions, paths and isms but nothing gave her the close relationship she was looking for. Indeed, some quite definitely put a guru or some form of priest between their members and God.

So when she came across Eckankar in the mid-1980s she knew ‘on the inner’ that it was worth looking at. She tells her story of getting into Eckankar in this blog post.

As editor of a holistic magazine she had insights into so many other paths and found lots of help for personal development, but no other spiritual path measured up to Eckankar in terms of giving her the wherewithal to connect personally with Spirit.

But the neurodiverse brain struggles sometimes

However, as an Aspie, she struggled with some of the techniques and practices offered by Eckankar to achieve that personal connection. So she has adapted some for a neurodiverse brain over the last 30+ years.
